The purpose of this page is two-fold.
Firstly, you may have used the SEARCH THIS SITE search facilitiy shown on the preceding page [The Home Page] but here I show no less than forty two [42] SEARCH ENGINES for you to choose to SEARCH THE WHOLE OF THE INTERNET for your desired subject.
Simply open up this LINK to another of my web pages, type in your subject in the left hand box; from the right hand box choose a Search Engine, then click on 'GO' - as simple as that. You will have course have a vast variance between the 'top boys' and the 'also rans' but it does help you to understand just what is out there !
Good hunting.
Secondly, A SMALL AND QUICK QUESTIONNAIRE ABOUT R.N. WEB SITES

BROWSING [or Surfing] the Internet is usually objective, and it is thought that the vast majority of those using the medium rarely wander away from their main interest[s]. Indeed, that is the reason for having a facility in which we can store our FAVOURITE websites, and those stored, along with their respective cookies, are visited time after time. When we do wander away, we tend to look at [and subsequently purchase] sites selling white goods, holidays, ebay articles etc., although few, I would think, would put these sites into the FAVOURITES folder.
When it comes to Naval things, rarely do we bother with anything other than Royal Navy sites and the USN, RCN, RAN, RNZN, SAN [and others, particularly European] are disregarded as not being relevant. This approach to browsing misses many good and informative sites. Moreover, we miss so much of the 'home' market by not visiting such sites as the Imperial War Museum, the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Naval Museum and others. There is evidence that many users stick with their alma maters and pay repeat visits to their Association[s] web site[s], joining in forums, viewing noticeboards and gathering data about pre and post reunions, oblivious that there are other sites which break away from the parochial nature of those linked to Associations, to display Naval things in the broader sense.
This questionnarie is designed to gather information on the habits of sailors [past and present] and of the civilians also visiting naval sites.
