I found this little snippet which is of interest.

NAVY WIVES CANNOT USE NAVAL CANTEEN FACILITIES.pdf

DISGUSTING I SAY !

Of interest, these are the UK NAAFI CLUBS in 1954. They provided a good run ashore with bars, dance halls, eating areas, and loads of lovely girls.  Portsmouth's Club was literally right outside the Duchess of Kent WRNS Barracks. Plymouth was in town some distance from the naval base at Devonport, on the foot of the famous Hoe.  WRNS barracks were miles away at St Budeaux. Chatham's was quite near to the local barracks [HMS Pembroke and thus the WRNS] and the dockyard. Singapore's was in downtown Singapore, known as the Britannia Club, a good twelve miles south of the naval base at Sembawang and not known to the navy as a good run ashore. The rest of course were for the army and the air force with Glasgow just a wee bit too far from the fledgling Faslane Base.
