This is an example of a Highly Secret war diary, this one for the end of April 1941.
Take note of how many people were killed and injured alone in one night when HMS RALEIGH was bombed.
Files like this example were produced for EVERY WEEK DURING THE WAR totalling a staggering 350 odd diaries and many conveying extremely sad and distressing news.
They were seen and used by senior officers in each Command, and when not in use, they were locked away in very secure places.
